Before I forget, Happy birthday,
cageyklio!
All of you who know me will know of my great disdain for All Things Sports (except for figure skating, a bit of gymnastics, and the occasional Olympic diver's derriere).
However.
In this very close and (to me) very terrifying election year, I am very superstitious, and consider the following good harbingers for Tuesday:
- The Red Sox won the World Series (they haven't done so in forever, and they're from Massachusetts, where Kerry's from).
- We had a lunar eclipse, which felt tremendously transformative when I watched it Wednesday night, and which is traditionally a harginber of change (hopefully not the change of this nation fully into a fascist or genocidal imperialists).
- The Green Bay Packers defeated the Washington Redskins in the Redskins' last home game before election day--something which, for the last 50 years, has heralded the defeat of the incumbent (when they win that game, so does the incumbent).
So, for tonight, GO, Packers!!!
I remembered to make macaroons for my students--I made two different kinds to see which is better, and dipped half of each in chocolate. Maybe they'll be good (the first ones are).
My kids were So SO cute for Hallowe'en today. I have photos, but will have to post them later, along with the couple dozen other photos I've resized and just not yet posted.
I didn't get to have Circle last night OR today because last night I was wheezing, and when we got back from trick-or-treating I started wheezing, then Elf wanted to Go Home Now. Then I left my ritual basket at
mtgat's. And am still wheezing. Yay. :-P (I have a doc's appointment tomorrow.) Husband is coughing up a lung. Daughter has been running a temp over 100. Boy is finally better. Yay.
So much for doing a working for rain in the Midwest. I'll just do something subtle and quiet without a full-out ritual (which, honestly, isn't necessary but just a soothing thing for me).
I know there was something else I was going to post. I think it was to do with the election. I'm so edgy about this. Any reassurances are making me feel better--superstitious or no. At least
tylure was able to vote in Missouri.
Go, Packers.
