Air Conditioning and Baking
Okay...this is wonderful.
The Board has gotten their act together and has come to an agreement with the contractors and work has been ordered on our air conditioning system. They expect to have the unit AND the crane to put it in place in about 2 weeks. They expect it to be operational within 1-2 weeks after that, barring catastrophic problems popping up.
Woo!
Course, in the meantime, we're all going to DIE. The good news is that the principal is still planning to call off school if the heat index in the building where none of the windows can be opened rises to 90 degrees.
I'm bringing my husband's industrial fan for my classroom and labeling it so it doesn't walk.
One of my seniors from last year IMed me tonight to ask about baking time for banana bread when the recipe is doubled. He's been snurching bananas from the cafeteria and saving them up so they'll go bad so he can make a bunch of banana bread for his classmates at college.
*grin*
