My 2 1/2 year old daughter gleefully watches Willow without fear.

She's cowering before the 65-year-old The Wizard of Oz. She sobbed when Miss Gulch took Toto. She is having to sit on a lap for most of it.

This is most entertaining.

I keep telling folks, if they think Harry Potter is evil, they should take a good look at the Oz universe, but do they believe me? NO!!

The OZ books totally rock my world. I remember being amazed when Capn' Bill ran a huge stake through the Kalidah and staked him to the ground in The Magic of Oz. Good stuff. :)

They were my first fandom, really. But I suspect the folks who declare HP evil and not Oz must be going by the movie version and think they're all just a dream.

When my mother saw Fantasia when she was little, it wasn't Night on Bald Mountain that freaked her out. What got to her were the unstoppable brooms. Decades later, when the video came out, she still wouldn't watch it.
