Languishing
Whew, this has been one of the longest periods of non-update of this thing in the past 7-8 years I've had it. It's mostly been a matter of spending less time online because I don't have a job and I don't have a permanent computer setup each place I go, and when i do I am working on trip-planning.
I keep running into little "Gotchas" in my planning for the around the world ticket, but I'm really leaning towards having a summer trip through Europe and Africa and some of Asia, and maybe coming back from that for a few months and doing a winter trip for a month or so in Australia and South America.
I ahd been sortof stoked about trying to go to Papeete and Easter island, two places in the middle of the ocean, but it looks like they aren't part of the one-world-alliance air-conglomerate whatever so they aren't part of my plan. I am going a whole bunch of places and I'll gladly spell it out once I actually confirm it because the plan really does change day-to-day.
There are some minor updates at joelshaughnessy.com and I hope to start putting more up there, but flickr seems to have the most frequently updated material, since I can upload 1000 words (a picture) a heckuva lot faster than I can type 1000 words.
