"french bread"

I made focaccia on Thursday, peanut butter cookies on Friday, and "French bread" on Saturday.

Kneading dough is admittedly cathartic, but considering I can walk to Andersen Bakery, I'm not sure I'll be making french bread again any time soon. I find that most things I bake are worth the extra time and money, but not this time. My aim was to recreate one of their cheese breads but it was harder than I had anticipated. Trial and error. Next time I'll have to keep a more watchful eye on my bread while it bakes and score the dough before I let it rise the second time.
