A friend asked me a little earlier about
DiorShow, my absolute favorite mascara in the whole world. At $24 a tube, it doesn't come cheap, but it's my favorite and works the best, too. I don't know if it's the formula of the mascara or the chubby brush, but it makes my lashes look super long yet natural. All of my white girlfriends have lashes that go on forever (Verity and Jess' lashes can almost touch their eyebrows), so I don't think it's as necessary for them to buy such expensive mascara. It seems like Asian girls got the short end of the stick in terms of lash length, which I think I can attribute to hair growing power. (A little more on that in another post!) The only way I can have my lashes touch my brows is if I wear falsies! DiorShow mascara doesn't make my lashes clump together or brittle, and it creates volume and curl, which are traits of good mascara. The only bad thing about it is the cost, but for me, mascara is one of those things that when you find the one you love, you stick to it.
Bare Escentuals classic mascara, DiorShow, Neutrogena Weightless Volume, Loreal Telescopic
I hate Loreal Telescopic because it makes my lashes clump together and in order to not have an excess amount of product on the end of the wand, you have to dab it off on tissue. While it does make my lashes look longer, it also takes much longer to apply mascara, because you have to go through with a lash comb to unclump your lashes.
Neutrogena Weightless Volume and the Bare Escentuals mascara don't cause clumps, but they also don't create the look of very full lashes like DiorShow. In order to see any significant difference, more than one layer needs to be applied, where as with DiorShow, it's *swipe* *swipe* (that's once on each eye) and then you're done.
But... the BEST part about DiorShow is that they also make it in Azure Blue... BLUE MASCARA! I know, only old Chinese ladies wear blue mascara, but HELLO? If you haven't tried it, don't knock it.. and by the way, it's the best stuff EVER. Huzzah!
OK fine, the last good thing about DiorShow is that the black is really black. (I mention this because Jess has complained that sometimes mascara isn't black enough, even though they say that they're black.) And if the regular DiorShow black isn't good enough for you, there's always
DiorShow Black Out.
