I feel ill
A friend just told me about a book she saw advertised called "The Hunt of the Unicorn" that sounded a lot like "Tapestry Threads." So I took a look at it. And I'm ready to burst into tears. While it's portal fantasy (the MC enters a fantasy land via the Unicorn tapestries in the Cloisters, which were my inspiration for the book), the main character is named Elayne. My MC is named Elaine. And while it's historical fantasy, not portal/high fantasy, anyone reading my summary is going to think it's the same story at best and not bother looking at it. Worst case, people are going to think I copied. I've been working on this since 2002! Cry. Maybe this is a sign I do need to hang up the marketing of TT and just focus on other stuff.
