And so my career as a student at Hollins is now ended. I sat through graduation during the rain and cold with
kathleenfoucart and a few other fellow students. Manged to walk without slipping and get diploma home without water marks (now...anyone make dual diploma frames?). Had a very wonderful weekend at the Hotel Roanoke with Brian, and Dawn and Dan stayed there as well. Got to go to Tea at
Petticoats and Petit Fours, too; methinks that should become a ritual for any graduate. But don't worry, I'm not gone from Hollins permanently. I'll always find my way back. ;)
As if this wasn't exciting enough for the week, almost exactly 48 hours after I received my MFA, I was offered a contract for a VERY exiting project! I sent in a proposal a few months ago and just heard today that I'm it and we're go for launch! AWESOME! Not sure what all I can say yet, but suffice it to say that this is a project that I was born to write.
Stay tuned this week as I answer the questions asked on my most recent (and, to date, first) high school visit!
