At last...

I need an "undecorating" icon...
An update.  If anyone cares :)

Christmas was good-- I drove up to Nashville late Saturday morning and ran a few last-minute errands with my Mom.  Christmas Eve, Brian came over and Mom cooked the traditional meal-- ham, her potato salad which I think is THE BEST, green bean casserole, rolls...it was delicious.  We baked M&M cookies and watched A Christmas Story on DVD.  Brian left pretty late to head home, promising to be there early Christmas Morning to do presents.

Christmas morning, Mom and I were up pretty early-- she made coffee and I called Brian, who sleepily informed me that he was aiming more for 10-ish to which I replied, "we're up now, please come over!".  So, 'bout 45 minutes later, my brother was there.  We did gifts, Mom cooked breakfast and I tried to sleep off the lovely headache that has been plaguing me on and off for about a week.  Later, we went over to my aunt Sara's for cooking, dining, gifting, and karaoke-ing in the den.  I had given Mom the "Broadway-- The American Musical" DVD set from the PBS special, and we watched the last disc of that because I had missed it on TV-- it's the one with all the stuff from "Wicked" on it.  Then, I was out like a light.

Drove home Tuesday and called Graham when I got to about Huntsville to ask if he could please make cheese dip to take to Jason and Nicola's because I knew I didn't have time to do anything myself.  He agreed-- good boy!-- and we made it over to the Dirty Santa gathering on time.  This year, the new people (Todd & Nicole) ended up with the wine keg, which had been cleverly disguised in a large box along with some Chick-Fil-A gift certificates.  After much negotiating and "strategery", I ended up with movie passes and candy and Graham ended up with a Corona bucket and glass gift set.  Then, I traded Nathan the Star Wars III DVD I had gotten last year and still hadn't opened for the NFL book he got this year.  Score!  Six of us stuck around and played a game of Scattergories before heading home.  And it was back to work on Wednesday.

Graham is in Atlanta for the Peach Bowl today with friends, and I am enjoying sleeping in and not having anywhere to be for a day.  I suppose we'll stay in tomorrow night and watch some more of the Sopranos DVDs I gave him for Christmas and watch the ball drop.  And we have Monday off also...and in two more weeks, we'll have ANOTHER Monday off for MLK day!  Yay government agencies!

1. Are you related to anyone famous or do you have any famous friends? If so, who?
2. Do you have any autographs or memorabilia?
3. If you could meet any 3 celebrities who would they be?
4. What would you want to be famous for doing?
5. Who's the most annoying celebrity?
1. Not that I know of

2. At some of the shows Kel and I used to go to together, we used to get the bands to sign t-shirts, dollar bills, CD inserts, stuff like that.  Nate got me an autograph from Dave Matthews and I have one from Carter Beauford...I have an autographed John Mayer picture

3. Hmm...Dave Matthews, Garth Brooks, & Peyton Manning

4. Writing a wonderful novel, being a good person...I don't know?   I don't think any of my life's ambitions lead to fame really

5. Paris.  Hilton.

And that, I suppose, is all the news that is news. At some point this weekend I have to un-deck the halls and pack everything away.  And prepare for the next year.

survey, christmas
