Yes, believe it or not, I need to make a third playlist post. (Well, not NEED per se, but I know there are at least several people on my f-list who are interested in this stuff, so ...) The last one was in January of this year, at which point the list had 112 songs on it and lasted 7.2 hours long. Now, as I type this, it's got 173 songs and spans

On topic comment(s) next: I love writing playlists. I even started one for my original work (well, the one story). My fan fiction is for fandom (though for B&S I have one generic one, and one for just my favorite couple). Of course my playlists are mainly typed up, and not in music format. I should do something about that, haha!
Sometimes, the moment I hear a particular song it will remind me of a character.
I've had this ever since I started making fan vids. Even though I kind of outgrew that, I still do it, and sometimes make songfics now. Which is why my sis loves "Do I" by Luke Bryan, and why she always associates it with Kevin/Scotty. I know it's not normally your style of music, but I'm going to attach the lyrics, because I have a feeling the sentiment in the song is right up your alley (let me know if I'm right or wrong). Oh, and why we both associate "Heartbroke Everyday" with Gilbert :).
Oh my gosh, I want to work in the first song into MGS (I already have Tom's biggest pet peeve with Paul being that Paul doesn't always cry when he's upset and Tom's not sure Paul's accepting the issue if he isn't crying about it).
I know we tend not to share music tastes, but I actually know some of these songs/artists, and am very proud of myself :). I hope I remember all of my comments!
1) I ♥ "Cat's in the Cradle"
2) I ♥ "When You Say Nothing at All". I think it's one of the songs that seems to find its way onto almost all of my lists. However, I don't know that version (definitely checking it out later though!) I know the Keith Whitley and Alison Krauss versions.
3) Although not my favorite song by her, I've always had a special spot for "You've Got a Way with Me"
4) I ♥ "I Don't Want to Miss a Thing", and have used it in fics before. Though I do admit to knowing the cover long before I knew it was an Aerosmith song :).
5) I feel like I should know the Carrie Underwood song ;).
6) I'll have to relook over the Lady Antebellum song without watching the video or hearing the song, because I'm thinking I might be able to rework it into something.
Lyrics:
Baby, what are we becoming
It feels just like we're always running
Rollin' through the motions every day
I could lean in to hold you
Or act like I don't even know you
Seems like you could care less either way
What happened to that girl I used to know
I just want us back to the way we were before
Chorus:
Do I turn you on at all when I kiss you, baby
Does the sight of me wanting you drive you crazy
Do I have your love, am I still enough
Tell me don't I, or tell me do I, baby
Give you everything that you ever wanted
Would you rather just turn away and leave me lonely
Do I just need to give up and get on with my life
Baby, do I?
Remember when we didn't have nothin'
But a perfect, simple kind of lovin'
Baby, those sure were the days
There was a time our love ran wild and free
Now I'm second guessing everything I see
Do I turn you on at all when I kiss you, baby
Does the sight of me wanting you drive you crazy
Do I have your love, am I still enough
Tell me don't I, or tell me do I, baby
Give you everything that you ever wanted
Would you rather just turn away and leave me lonely
Do I just need to give up and get on with my life
Baby, do I
Still give you what you need
Still take your breath away
Light up a spark way down deep
Baby, do I?
Do I turn you on at all when I kiss you, baby
Does the sight of me wanting you drive you crazy
Do I have your love, am I still enough
Tell me don't I, or tell me do I, baby
Give you everything that you ever wanted
Would you rather just turn away and leave me lonely
Do I just need to give up and get on with my life
Tell me baby, do I get one more try
Do I?
Baby, do I?

Hey, I had to try and make sure I was still worthy of the title of your LJ best friend, LOL!

I am absolutely compulsive with playlists. I didn't have one for IU when I first started writing, but then the fic kind of stalled out around Chapter 7 or so and Katie was like, "Do you have a playlist?" and I said, "... Umm, NO. *facepalm*" So I ended up making one, and I pretty much haven't stopped writing since then. Rather pathetic actually. ;)
It's awesome that you recognize most of those songs! *grin*
I come on AIM actually a LOT more now than in the last few months, and this has been especially the case while I'm on holidays. If you look for me in the afternoon/late evening, I'll usually be there. :D

I was looking at my playlists on YouTube, and I look completely compulsive. I was adding songs to artists, and while I was good about also adding them to the playlists for Anne of Green Gables, Kevin/Scotty (Brothers & Sisters), and Tom/Paul (my current baby), I realized I had so many other playlists I was ignoring. Including some I no longer knew what they meant. Such as, what is a "tractor playlist"? Is this a playlist for songs about tractors? Is that really necessary? Hehehehe. That reminds me that I have many, many scenes typed up, and have to decide what's making the cut. But I keep going back and forth, and many seem so boring on their own, haha.
Hehehe, see, we're so destined to be friends forever :-D.
Well then, I'll definitely have to try and get back in the habit of getting on in hopes of reconnecting with you :).
And by the way, I just noticed that we're back to old ways of having multiple threads in the same post :-D.
