So being the giant nerd that I am, I've been going over caps of the bookshelf in Emily's bedroom, trying to figure out what's on her reading list. I haven't got very far, but here's what I do have. Some is speculation based on scraps of text:
The Complete Works of William Shakespeare
Tao Te Ching
At the Highest Levels - Michael R. Beschloss and Strobe Talbott
King's Oak - Anne Rivers Siddons
Argument Without End - Robert S. McNamara et. al.
Magnificent Destiny - Paul L. Wellman
Return of the Straight Dope - Cecil Adams
Idiot's Guide to Baseball
National Geographic Answer Book
An interesting mix. Looks like there's an interest in politics/war history, which makes sense if she had to do a lot of undercover work. More later, but it looks like there's at least one Patricia Cornwell book, and one about Abraham Lincoln. Tell me if you can make any out.
Edit: one of them ends in "of the Arts," which could be Social Impact of the Arts, but it's hard to tell.
