So for Valentine's Day my original plan was to invite some single friends to go eat out at a fancy restaurant (I was hoping for Fleming's). However, even though I sent the invite a few weeks ago, February crept up on me, and a lot of places no longer have reservations available. Frank offered to cook for us, and since that's a guaranteed 4 course gourmet meal, I have no complaints. The menu is apparently going to include a salad, shrimp bisque, carnitas with mango chutney, and creme brulee (this was a must-have and my request, since I know he has the torch). So there will be five of us for dinner at Frank's.
I'm going to make this Super Fruity Sangria
• 1 Bottle of your favorite red or white wine
• 1 Lemon cut into wedges
• 1 Orange cut into wedges
• 1 Lime cut into wedges
• 1 Peach cut into wedges
• 1 Cup sliced strawberries
• 1/2 Cup Sugar
• 2 Cups ginger ale
Pour wine in the pitcher and squeeze the juice wedges from the lemon, orange and lime into the wine. Toss in the fruit wedges (leaving out seeds if possible) and add sliced peaches, strawberries, and sugar. Chill overnight. Add ginger ale and ice just before serving.
Yesterday I bought all the fruit.
loooosiana strawberrrries!
p.s. yogalates again this morning! feeling tired, but it was a good workout. and i do think that's where some of my back pain comes from, because we do a major core workout and i know my stomach's too weak to support my back sometimes.
