I've been a total slacker with posting. You may not have noticed, but I have a ton of pics I've been meaning to show you, and I doubt I'll get around to most of them. Anyway, this past weekend was occupied with Christen's wedding. I show you it.

The cake...top layer gluten-free, thanks to Christen's food allergies

Apparently Kevin likes disc golf. A lot.

Christen's related to the Bergeron Pecan people...lucky. Here's roasted, sugared, and chocolated.

I don't think I'd ever want an outside wedding, but Rosemound Gardens provided a pretty unique venue.

Rather than just standing in rows on a field with a trellis, there was a gazebo on the lake, and little paths all around where people could stand, as well as the deck of the house.

They wrote their own vows (don't think I could do that)

Apple and cucumber sangria, plus a cheese platter from which I ate probably a pound of goat cheese and brie.

Telltale sign that the bride is a graphic designer.

First course, lobster bisque. The ONLY thing wrong with this was that it came in way too small of a cup.

The rest was buffet

Let's see...smoke salmon, vegetable skewers, jambalaya, pork tenderloin, flank steak, roasted vegetables, hummus...um. yeah.

Had a great time. Great group of people, she had friends in from San Diego (where they lived for 5 years), Maine (where they live now), New Jersey (where he's from) and obviously Baton Rouge and Donaldsonville (where she's from). Had a great time. It was scheduled to rain, but really only drizzled a bit, and not until after the wedding, and everyone danced outside anyway. One guy did slip and have to leave in an ambulance, before the wedding even began, and Christen was freaking out that she made the most horrible decision ever. But really, I navigated the whole thing in 4 inch heels, and I think 1 casualty out of 150 is not bad. Ended up staying the night in St. Francisville, since someone had an extra bed. Then we got up and had brunch the next day.
Dried inch of mud on my shoes.

First, I had a quick bite at the little inn I stayed at. Their bacon was so perfectly crisp, I probably had fourths.

Then, brunch back at the wedding site.

Cheese grits, cheese biscuits, BACON, and eggs. Also had a lot of mimosas.

Dirt-soaked train on her wedding dress. That's how you know it was a good time.
