In This Day and Age?
The world is experiencing a plague. No not a plague. The Plague. As in The Black Death. The official report was leaked somehow out of the Centers for Disease Control in Atlanta, Georgia, United States. Wires are crossed and the media's buzzing about like mad, but there are no definitive answers. The only thing known for certain is that some dear housewife in the States gets the pleasure of being recorded in history as dying of the plague in 2006.
Thank goodness that it's treatable in this day and age. As long as the supply of antibiotics doesn't run out. (I suppose that all the pharmaceutical companies are going to turn quite the tidy profit now.)
A tourist must have carried it here because I passed several people coughing on the streets and Dr Jones is horribly congested.
