AAaaah Sweet Justice

Saturday I was working my usual evening shift at Petco. Part of my routine is to pull customer info for appointments scheduled the next day and make reminder calls. I was looking through the info cards and found one that one didn't have updated rabies info. At Petco, it is required that before we give your pooch a bath, we need proof that the only foaming we'll see is from the soap^_^

So I thought I'd be all nice and call the customer, ask them if they could bring in the rabies certificate so we could update our records. I get the husband on the phone and let him know what we need, polite and professionally mind you. Well, he relays the message to his wife but, does it in such a way that I sound like some kind of bitch. Suddenly I hear the wife belt out in the background,"Thats bullshit!!" And in a snarky voice the husband gets back on and says,"You heard my wife's response to that, I'll let you talk to her."

So the wife proceeds to bite my head off, saying she brought in the rabies stuff in May, and it wasn't her fault we kept bad records. All around verbally abusive, and even more so when I told her that no they could not use the tags as proof. In the end, she told me that we WOULD take their dog and she didn't care WHAT policy we had. I told her we needed the rabies info and she hung up.

Their vet happened to be a 24 hrs vet. I was about ready to call them up for the rabies info so the morning people wouldn't have to deal with the assholes, when asshole hubby calls back demanding a manager. I told him the only managers available were on the sales floor. Our phone is stupid and can't transfer, so I offered the number to the sales floor. Then this guy got personal, taking jabs at me saying stuff like he would be making my life very difficult. I put him on hold and got so frustrated I was in tears. I mean, all I was asking for is a fucking piece of paper saying their dog is clean. I get yelled out by customers on a daily basis, but it always gets me when they start taking punches at me as a person. They do NOT know me so what makes them even THINK they have the fucking right to come after me.

The floor manager came in and well as one of the cashiers on break to calm me down. The manager took the call and the husband was just as rude to her. Afterward, I called the vet and got the needed info, so everything was clear.

The head groomer called the assholes the next morning to let them know everything was good. These people still bit her head off! At that point, the groomer told them their behavior was uncalled for, and she would not continue to tolerate it, especially if they caused one of her staff to cry. The guy got ridiculous and said they would be going to the district manager about this and not come back to this store..forever!!...so yeah, apparently the real fucktards get to live forever, sucky:P

Both the grooming and floor manager wrote an incident report and sent it to the district manager as a heads up. His response was music to all our ears^^ Probably sums it up in his last sentence: "Simple respect is expected both ways."
It's nice to know that the customer is not always right.
