Meme stolen from “nakeisha”
1. Do you make your bed?
Not really, I just throw the topsheet and duvet back over it (unless there is a cat sleeping there when I wake up, in which case I won’t have folded them back in the first place).
2. The first car that was officially yours?
My first and (so far) only car is a 2013 red Smart - my wee tiny car
3. Three grocery items you don't run out of?
Hmm.. We’re pretty good at regular grocery shopping, but three things that are always in the house are (a) wheat bread, for sandwiches (b) sour cream, which we use as a condiment for many meals, and (c) digestive biscuits, which are finally (after about two decades!) readily available in the USA
4. When did you start doing your own laundry?
I still haven’t! I live at home, and Mom still does the family laundry collectively (while I’m at work now, instead of when I’m at school). My chore is washing the dishes.
5. If you could, would you go to High School again?
Yeah…no. I was not particularly fond of high school. There were some parts I liked, I met some of my best friends there, got into the theater, learned Latin… but knowing what I know now, I would hate it so, so much more than I did then.
6. Can you parallel park in under three moves?
I learned how to pass my driving test and have never attempted it since. And because of the above-mentioned Smart car, I don’t have to!
7. A job you had which people would be shocked to know you had?
I have done paperwork processing for all of my jobs so far, so that’s not really shocking. But the place that gets the most reaction is when I ran the truck scale at the rendering plant - the place where they take all the inedible animal bits from the meat packing plant up the road and cook them down into powder. Fun!
8. First TV?
I don’t believe in having a TV in my bedroom, but I guess ‘my’ TV is the one in our back room (the ‘toy room’, since it used to be our playroom as kids) which is now my office, and when we re-did the room and put in new shelves, I bought a new smart-TV to fit on them.
9. Can you drive a stick shift?
Nope. I drive as little as possible and haven’t really driven anything but my wee tiny car. But my dad has a stick shift car and he wants me to learn (one of these days…)
10. Favourite TV show?
I don’t think I have one absolute favorite. As a family, we’ve been watching Star Trek TOS when there’s nothing good on (which is often) and those episodes are always fun.
11. Would you rather be too hot or cold?
Too hot, definitely. It has to be hot for me to think it’s too hot, and I’m always about one layer colder than everyone else (I always have a sweater with me, and I almost always need it).
12. If the world ends do you want to be one of the survivors?
I guess? We’re a pretty smart bunch at our house, I think we’d do okay. Depends on what happens to end the world in the first place.
13. Sweet or Salty?
Salty - too much sweet makes my teeth hurt.
14. Do you enjoy soaking in a nice bath?
No. I bathe because I need to, not because I especially enjoy the process, and I have very long hair, so showers are just easier.
15. Do you consider yourself strong?
Yes, I think so. I’m no weight-lifter, but I do okay.
16. Something people do, physically, that drives you crazy?
They’re so thoughtless! So many people do not think for one second about how their actions affect other people. It’s very frustrating.
17. Something you do, physically, that you are sure drives other people crazy?
Hmmm… I don’t know. There’s probably a lot of things.
18. Do you have any birthmarks?
Not that I know of.
19. Favorite card game?
It’s been a while since I played any card games. It’s usually computer solitaire, if I do.
20. Do you talk to yourself?
Of course. And to cats.
21. Do you like doing jig-saw puzzles?
I enjoy them very much.
22. Would you go on a reality show?
Be on TV for millions to see? Hell, no.
23. Tea or coffee?
If given a straight-up choice, coffee. But I take a thermos of tea to work because I drink it black, and I need milk & sugar in my coffee,
24. First thing you remember wanting to be when you grew up?
A paleontologist! I still love dinosaurs, but at about eight years old, I learned that paleontologists work mainly outside, often in the desert.
25. No matter how much money you have or don't have, what are you an absolute snob about?
Not much, really. I do have a thing about book vs. movies (books are almost always better!) and certain movies that just did not get the point of the original novel... but I’m pretty easy-going otherwise.
