One of the things that made our lunchtime patrol a little better was the variety of food trucks that populated the Philadelphia streets. I balanced my tray of sushi in one hand, waving my chopsticks as we walked down the street, “Are you sure you don’t want some, sir?”
Howell snorted and took a bite of his double cheeseburger. “Jones, when I was your age, men sold oysters by the wheelbarrow, in the height of summer, without the aid of artificial refrigeration.”
I looked sideways at him. “You ate them, didn’t you, sir?”
He snorted again. “Of course I did.”
