I always write him as mildly annoyed, but also amused. Like he can't believe people are falling all over themselves to help him. I often have him wave away people that want to open car doors for him or refuse to have a driver.

Yes, because I think Jack sees himself as just another airman (if a little older). Drivers are for 'important' people, like generals and stuff, not old flyboys like Jack.
