Today was my second work-day after the holiday, but my first at the front desk. Yesterday, I was reshelving books. I did two fiction carts, because I think they're the easiest. (Non-fiction isn't too bad, but I hate kids' carts and their hundreds of little picture books that won't fit on the shelf). People usually stop to ask me questions while I'm reshelving, but yesterday, an older gentlemen stopped to ask if we had a particular book on CD- and I had just put it on the shelf not five seconds before! Also, for some reason, there were at least half a dozen books stuck behind the others on the shelf, which I had to pull out and take back to be re-filed. And, while I was doing that, the shelf bit me (by which I mean I scratched my finger-it doesn't hurt, but it itches like crazy)
And, of course, reshelving books I find all these ones I want to read, so I checked out another three yesterday, even though I already have a pile next to my bed. All I can say is that working at the library equals no late fines!
On a completely unrelated note, I got some new dragons. Four hatched:
I was excited to find the blue stripe, but I do wish I had been able to find either of the Christmas ones
And I also have a wee egg, from my two Pygmys, Hoshi-Yosei and Star-Fairy:
