Life Lessons
There was a sudden ringing silence.
Slowly, Steve rose from his crouch, peering out from behind his shield, then stood up to his full height when nothing else moved or exploded.
“I think it’s safe,” he said.
Natasha stepped out from around the corner, both guns still drawn, followed by Clint. Thor lowered his hammer, then helped a sheepish-looking and human-sized Bruce to his feet. Tony retracted his helmet and walked out into the charred circular clearing that hadn’t been there a moment before.
“Well,” he said, looking deeply impressed at all the damage. “We are never doing that again.”
