Gibbs set the bottle of pain medication and water glass on the table in front of Tony, then turned back to the stove, not turning around again until he’d heard them picked up and put back down.
It was past time for them, by Tony’s expression, but it brightened instantly when Gibbs put a bowl at each of their places. “Chicken soup, boss?” he asked, grinning.
“Duck said you needed something healthy,” said Gibbs, starting on his own bowl.
“Yeah, but homemade?” said Tony. He took a bite and closed his eyes, smile softening. “Thanks, boss.”
“Eat your soup, DiNozzo.”
