“Other government agents,” Emily Fornell repeated, scowling. She turned off the TV with more force than was strictly necessary. “That was us! NCIS!”
“Get used to it now, Fornell,” said Tony, not looking up from his own desk. “It happens a lot.”
“Yeah, but the State Police? I mean, I’d understand if it was the FBI- no offence, boss…”
“Hey,” Tony said, more softly. “When I was senior field agent, I hated it, too. But it really is an advantage when the bad guys have never heard of you.”
“Okay, boss,” Emily agreed. “But I don’t have to like it.”
