“Hey, Duck,” said Gibbs, when the M.E. stopped beside his desk.
“Ah, yes, hello, Jethro,” Ducky replied. “And where are our young colleagues this morning?”
“Out running down leads.” Gibbs looked up at him. “Something on your mind, Duck?”
“Now that you mention it, yes,” the other man agreed. “I made a brief stop at the cemetery today, for Remembrance Day- as you know, Mother made great contributions to the war effort in her day- and what should I find when I arrive? Four beautiful arrangements of poppies by her headstone.”
“Is that so?” Gibbs deadpanned.
Ducky smiled. “Thank you.”
