“Tell me you didn’t drive here, DiNozzo,” snapped Gibbs, as Tony stumbled on the last step down to the basement.
“No, sir,” said Tony. “Took a cab.”
Gibbs went back to his sanding. “Your dad left already?”
“Yeah.”
“That why you’re drinking?”
“Nope,” said Tony, hopping up to sit on the workbench. “Had a drink with Dad before he left. And then, I had another two. Because I realized that I haven’t known where he lives since I left for college. But I know your door is always unlocked, boss.”
Gibbs grinned. “C’mon, Tony. I’ll make a pot of coffee.”
