“You’re a good friend, McGee,” said Tony. He tried to pat McGee’s shoulder but missed, and nearly fell.
“Uh-huh,” McGee said, tugging his partner through the door to his apartment building- Tony sounded completely sober, but he was having trouble walking straight. They’d gotten a confession out of the suspect, but Tony had drunk him under the table to do it, and McGee had to deal with him.
“I mean it, Probie! You’re - What was my point?”
McGee dumped him into bed. “That I’m going to laugh at your hangover tomorrow.”
“That wasn’t it.” Tony paused. “Stay?”
“Yeah, I’ll stay.”
