scifiverse Challenge #33: Gender Swap

Apr 03, 2011 04:25

Hilary Swank as Captain Jane T. Kirk

She's just the right balance of 'pretty' and 'kick-ass'- she could totally pull off commanding the Enterprise, battling Klingons and teaching alien hunks how to love.

Padget Brewster as Science Officer Spock, daughter of Sarek

Playing a Vulcan is probably tricky, but she has the kind of acting range that she could manage it.

Ellen Page as Dr. Leona "Bones" McCoy

I'd been trying to find a slightly older actress for Bones, but it's his sense of humor I've always liked, and she could absolutely come through with the sarcasm.

Karen Gillan as Chief Engineer Margaret "Scotty" Scott

In all fairness, I haven't actually seen her in anything, but I needed a Scottish actress and I hear she was really good on "Doctor Who"

Grace Park as Lieutenant Himeko Sulu

She's got the right mix of girlish charms and quirky brilliance- and I could absolutely see her running down the Enterprise corridors with a sword.

Amy Adams as Ensign Petra Chekov

This one was harder, but she's got the youthful enthusiasm for this part, and I'll bet she could do the accent, too.

Jesse L. Martin as Lieutenant Njau Uhura

Not many actors can probably say 'hailing frequencies open' repeatedly and not get on our nerves- plus, he can sing.

Seamus Deaver as Nurse Christopher Chapel

I can just see him having a wonderful bedside manner, and I can completely picture him acting out that unrequited crush on Miss Spock.

Chad Michael Murray as Yeoman John Rand

Mostly because he's pretty.
