All Over Again
The twenty-fourth time McGee fell in love with Abby, it was a Tuesday.
Their current case seemed to require mostly 'good old-fashioned police work' (as Tony kept saying) leaving Abby with piles of evidence to process and McGee with no computers to track, hack or otherwise deal with.
It took Gibbs less than an hour to get fed up with his team's bickering (for once, instigated by a bored-out-of-his-mind McGee).
Which was how McGee ended up in the forensics lab doorway, with no more explicit orders than "Go help Abby, and don't come back until she's got something."
Abby's music was blaring, as usual, abd she hadn't heard the elevator. She was dressed down, today- well, dressed down for Abby, anyway, wearing a skull-print t-shirt and dark jeans under her lab coat, her hair done up in pigtails- and McGee stopped to watch her.
She had at least four tests running on her computer, but was apparently waiting for the results as she slurped absently on her caf-pow!, keeping an eye on her monitors.
She really was perfect, McGee thought
Abby turned to double-check one of the tests, and spotted him. "McGee!"
He didn't even try to pretend he hadn't been watching her. "Hey, Abs."
She narrowed her eyes at him, hands on her hips- but he knew she wasn't actually mad. "How long have you been standing there?"
McGee grinned. "Not long enough."
Rolling her eyes, Abby grabbed his hand and pulled him into the lab. "If you're going to stay, Timmy, you're going to work."
He grinned again. "I love it when you're pushy, Abs."
She grinned back and kissed him lightly. "I love it when you're you, Tim."
And if McGee hadn't already been head over heels, he'd have fallen in love with her all over again.
