“You know you could leave me, right?” he murmured.
She pushed him back, frowning, “What?”
“No, I…” McGee sighed. “This case, it… we almost didn’t see it, the lieutenant had his wife so scared, she couldn’t tell us he’d murdered his girlfriend. And that… You are the best thing that’s happened to me, except the kids, but I need to know that you know you could leave. If you wanted.”
Delilah’s expression softened, “I know, Tim. But I think I’ll stay.”
He laughed and kissed her.
