People usually didn’t understand why Gus was friends with Shawn.
They only saw the surface of it - that Shawn was irresponsible and irritating, and that Gus was always having to get him out of trouble. But Shawn was also caring and loyal, and understood Gus like nobody else probably ever would.
Which was why Gus woke up on his living room floor, tangled in all the sheets and blankets from his apartment, because he had a nightmare and called his best friend, who came over at two in the morning to build him a blanket fort, like they were kids.
