“That doesn’t bother you?” Parker had that look on her face, where she was trying to figure out human behavior. “Getting old?”
Eliot caught her free hand, lacing their fingers together over his heart.
“Most hitters,” he said, softly, “don’t get to be old.”
She understood, “But you do. Because you have us.”
“Yeah,” Eliot repeated.
Parker started carding her fingers through his hair again.
