“Why is nothing ever on the edge of nowhere?” asked Shawn.

Gus frowned. “What?”

“There must be an edge,” he continued, gesturing at the forest around them, “Maybe some corners. How can we be in the middle of nowhere if there’s no edge?”

“That’s what you’re worried about now?”

Shawn stopped walking. “Would you rather worry about the fact that it’s still like ten miles to any kind of civilization and we didn’t tell anyone where we were going?”

“No,” said Gus, after a pause. “No, I would not.”

“Good.” They started off again. “So, how do you calculate nowhere…?”
