Natasha had been trained in infiltration, silent entry and undetected motion, single-minded focus on her target.
The mark was sitting with her back to the door, brushing out long shiny hair over the shoulder of her silken nightgown. Natasha crept closer, reaching out to rest her fingers on the curve of the bare neck in front of her.
Pepper let out a cry of surprise, dropping her hairbrush onto the bedspread.
“Tasha!” she laughed. “Stop, your hands are cold.”
“Are you saying you don’t want me to touch you?”
Pepper smiled. “Never. So I’ll just have to warm you up…”
