“Aw, you must be so proud,” said Jimmy, handing back McGee’s phone and the photo of his twins grinning as they held up brightly-colored achievement certificates.
“Of course,” McGee agreed. “It’s only kindergarten, and they’re silly classroom awards, but still. And what about yours, how’s Victoria doing?”
“Top of her class,” he replied, equally proud. “She’s started an after-school tutoring program.”
“That’s great! If she keeps that up, she’ll be valedictorian in no time.”
“Well, every parent believes their child is the best kid in the world.”
“Sure,” McGee said, smiling. “But in our case, it’s true.”
Jimmy grinned. “Exactly.”
