Stop Kidnapping

“But that isn’t how love works,” said the princess. “Love is the opposite of fear. Love is doing things for people with no expectation of anything in return. You can’t just kidnap people and expect them to love you.”

“Ah,” said the sorcerer.

She scowled. “What?”

“I don’t expect you to love me, Your Highness.”

“Then who… wait, my brother? Is that why you keep kidnapping me?”

“I…”

“He likes apple tarts. And white roses,” she said. “And if you promise to stop kidnapping me, I’ll put in a good word.”

The sorcerer brightened. “Really?”

She huffed a laugh. “Sure.”
