*Sob*
I'm actually really proud of him. E is getting himself dressed in the mornings now. We go into his room and pick out his clothes and then he takes off his pjs by himself and then puts on his clothes for the day all by himself. He's just getting so big!
We also have these little Fiestaware pitchers, courtesy of my Mom, that he uses to pour the milk on his cereal at breakfast. They are the tiny syrup pitchers and can hold just enough milk for a bowl of cereal. I fill it up and put it on the table with his bowl of cereal (he gets his own bowl and spoon from the drawers) and he pours it. He just loves it. (So, thanks Mom!)
It feels like the final sign that he is really a big boy now and not a baby, toddler, or little boy. He is just so proud of all the things he can do.
And, on a final note, we went hiking in Great Falls, VA last weekend. At the end of the climb (which included boulders and some major rocks to hoist my carcass over) I was just too tired to continue up the final mountain of rocks. I had E and M go on their own. E refused to go and ran back to give me a kiss. Then he said, "I gave you a kiss, so now you should feel better to come climbing up with us." How could I say no to that?
