Plus a total update....
Sorry I haven't posted in awhile. Life gets away from me. But today E is in bed and M is at a punk rock concert for a guys night out.
So, we tried potty training with E as I mentioned in the last post, but we had to count it short because he got a stomach virus that became known to us at 5pm on Friday when he started throwing up. It was a hard night, but the next morning he was feeling much better. He didn't have much of an appetite until 5 pm on Saturday, but he was playing and napping and having a jolly time. So, no more PT for a while....
Until this weekend. M took the day off today to start again. E is doing really, really well. He's gone #1 4 times today and told us when he had to go the last 2 times. Even when he "missed" he'd told us or realized he had to go and couldn't tell us in time. We're pretty thrilled. He gets ice cream, ink stamps, and stickers as rewards, not to mention a few Thomas Tank Engine toys that I happen to have ready for "gift emergencies."
We've been offered a pre-school spot at a Montessori school in our neighborhood. I think we're going to take it. There is every possibility that a really exclusive, expensive, Pre-K-12 Montessori school will also offer us a spot. We're going to have a serious talk about educational opportunities if that happens.
M's job is going really well. Things have been "exciting." (Those of you who know what he does will get that meaning.) On a really cool note, he got a paper accepted at a conference in the Netherlands. He'll go in May. E and I won't be going as it is during one of my busiest times of year at work. I'm incredibly thrilled for him.
My job is going well. I'm looking at getting a promotion soon. I applied into higher level position that is essentially doing what I'm doing now with extra duties, extra time required and a load more money. This should be interesting...
School is good. May is my last set of classes! Yay! I finished my papers for my February classes and I'm working on my practicum write-up. I'm hoping to have a draft in to my advisor by mid-April. I also have my comprehensive exam in June. It's an at-home exam that will take me a week to complete. I'll take a few vacation days to write up the essay/case study and then turn it in. I am thrilled to being so close to the end, but at the same time I'm sad. I'll miss having 10 days will all these people every 3 months. I've gotten close to many of them - definately life-long friends.
On the other hand, I will be very, very happy to have the opportunity at a social life again... :)
