Well, that was interesting... I've been off work since Tuesday because of my back. It's had more than enough of those chairs that we're given. They're just 'general ergo', but my body-shape doesn't work well in them. I tried to get an ergo set up a few months back and I was told to get my doctor to fill out certain papers. I had a hard time getting in, but I finally managed to get in to see him about 3 weeks ago. At which point he realized that I only had 2 of the 3 sheets needed given to me... So, fine. I went to the person who was filling in for my manager, told him what was going on and he said he'd get me the 3rd sheet. A few days later, he hands me two completely separate sheets and said that the process had changed, and I needed to fill out these ones, and then have my manager fill out the other ones. She was on vacation, so I had to wait for her to get back. So, fine. I wait for that. She comes back, I talked with her about it, she didn't know anything about it... After a few days I just filled them out and had her sign it and put it in. A week later, I asked her for an update. She tells me that they were the wrong papers, that that process was something that a different call center uses..... So, not only did I get the wrong papers handed to me when I asked, but no one told me until I went asking for the information... Keep in mind, all this time, I'm sitting on chairs that cause me an incredible amount of pain every day.
So, I get the 3rd sheet and go back to my doctor. Now we're at this week, where I've been off all week. I went in to see him on Wednesday and he gave me some medication to help the muscles in my back relax and some pretty heavy-duty pain killers. They're about the strength of T-3's but they aren't made with a narcotic. I'm not sure what they're made with, but they have the same effect on me. Course, the side effects for both pills are about the same with a few notable exceptions. They both cause drowsiness, they both have the standard nausea, upset stomache, etc. They both can cause jaundice on the serious end of effects and the ones for my back... Well, just taking them raises my chances of stomache or intestinal bleeding and heart attack... So yeah... At least they're both small.... Anyway, yesterday I go to put in the papers, because now I have them filled out. And what do I get told? "These are the wrong forms"... *smashes things* After all of this, they're the wrong ones too?? Apparently, all I needed as a perscription for an ergo chair and an ergo desk... I could have got that weeks ago!! This is really starting to piss me off. It's like Arvato all over again. I give everything I have for the company I work for, I'm incredibly loyal to them and all I get is fucked at the end of it. So now, I've been off work for 4 days, I'm going to have someone from the people who do our benefits call me and find out if I've been off for legitimate reasons or not, and they will decide if I need to be off longer or if I should go back to work now. They'll also decide if the time off will be paid or unpaid... On the plus side, the 3 page sheet that I have filled out is the paper-work that *they* need from my doctor to find out if I need more time off or not...
I just want a bloody chair that doens't hurt an a mouse and keyboard side by side at the right angle with a monitor at the right height. Is that so much to ask when I sit in that spot for 8 hours a fucking day, 5 days a fucking week??
