I'm too brainfried to make a full post, but I wanted to make a quick comment about the movie "9". While I had a little trouble getting into the story (I seem to be having that problem with all movies lately, though), it is visually stunning and wonderfully creative.
I adore 3 and 4. ^__^ 5 is also awesome. I just want to give him a hug. ^^;
I do want to see it again so I can digest the story more...and squee over 3 and 4 again. =D
I finally got a chance to see G.I. Joe: Rise of Cobra a week or so back. First thought: There were enough explosions in that movie to make Michael Bay jealous. %D
Second thought: I didn't know Heavy Duty was British in this. o_O
Third thought: THAT WAS FUN! XD Breaker is my new favorite character. I like what they did with Snake Eyes' costume, I think the impression of a nose and mouth, and the expression on it, lent toward a good portrayal of his silence.
The new take on the characters' backgrounds was intriguing. I don't want to spoil anything, but I'm sure anyone who has seen it will know who I mean. This is another franchise that I only know a touch about, character-wise, and the continuity I'm most familiar with is Sigma Six, so I enjoyed the movie for what it was.
And on TF: My mom and I watched the first movie and then went to see RotF the next day at the dollar theater.
My conclusion: Transformers '07 is a beautiful work of art.
Revenge of The Fallen is bad fanfiction that needed more time to be proofread and revised.
Every time I see RoTF I try to reconcile it with the continuity of the first movie, and I just can't do it. It really does feel like someone's fanfic made it on to the big screen. They managed to get some of the characters right, but then made a mess with adapting other canon characters and injecting weak OCs/OCs disguised as canon characters.
But I do get new Ironhide figures out of it, so, I'll let it rest now.
