Warning: Mirror Evolution art.
Y'know, with all the creative stuff in my head, why is it this is what makes it onto paper? I have plenty of HoND art I could be doing. I'd really like to practice TFs more. Oh, yeah, and that little thing called Pendulum, hmm? But no, I become struck by an idea that makes me get out of bed after I've already turned off the light, and sit down with paper and pencil. Of course, if I could figure that out, I might be able to fix my brain glitch, too. So....I'm just going to take this as an exercise in coloring. Or an exercise in bleeding out what's left of a story I can't seem to get out of my head even if I used a hacksaw.
Despite the proportion and perspective issues, I like this. The poses turned out like I pictured them in my head, although I first wanted Gavin's left hand held in a fist, but it wasn't working so I started to do the wuss-out of having his arm down at his side. I didn't like that either, so I tried a loose sketch of his hand the way it is now, and it worked. The rest of that arm, however, is terrible. XP Foreshortening is something I just can't wrap my head around. Any time I try it, I'm stuck staring and trying to get the lines to appear, and even when I model in the mirror, I can't get the concept to materialize at all. Oh, and I did a decent profile! Another thing that has given me trouble before, but I've gotten better at it. :) And hurray for gradient backgrounds! :D Dialogue from The Phoenix Duplication.
