I really agree with you about Jack and what has been done to him. I wanted to write a fic that gave Ianto a chance to see Jack both as he was before he became immortal and what he was like long after Ianto was gone. I think that Ianto does have the ability to be what Jack needs in a partner he just needs a better understanding of what it really mean to be Jack...

This is such a wonderful story...one of the best fics I've ever read!
I nearly cried at the bit in Part 1 where Ianto was just one of Ambassador Jack's memories of his many past loves.
