One good, the other...not so good.
Let's get the not-so-good out of the way first.
My dad is officially fucking INSANE.
He's been getting these calls on his cell from a number none of us recognize, but they never leave a message and we have no idea who it's from. Well, tonight he finally got to the phone and answered it before they signed off, and it was apparently a recording asking for his account number (to what, I don't know - I wasn't there to hear the call) or his social security number.
You get three guesses as to what he did - and the first two don't count. Yup. Dad may have just given a phone scammer the keys to the kingdom, so to speak.
So...yeah. Mom is LIVID (gee, wonder why?) and now we have to wait and see what happens (though I did tell her to watch their accounts for any sudden activity that shouldn't be there).
Excuse me while I commence headdesking for a bit here...

The other thing, which is a little better, involves my uber-conservative/religious brother. Evidently he was asking about me recently, so mom called him up and had me chat with him. Thankfully, it turned out to be a decent talk, and nobody (read: him) said anything about any sore subjects.
Though I did find it interesting that while talking about TV shows Brother said that he won't let Nephew watch Adventure Time (a favorite of mine) anymore because of "questionable content." Two reasons I find this interesting are a) I'm pretty sure I can guess what tripped his O NOES meter - the Scary Gay Stuff and Peppermint Butler's apparent demon-summoning proclivities - and b) he was dropping a couple of F-bombs into the conversation. Which isn't something to notice otherwise (I swear all the time, heh), except that at one point I heard Nephew within speaking distance of Brother. So I don't know if Nephew was around the whole time we were talking, or not, but if he was, that kinda makes Brother a big 'ol hypocrite if he's not bothered by his kid picking up a few swear words, yet freaks over a cartoon show that is obviously not intended to be taken seriously. But that's how the conservative/repressed-religious mind works. *shrug*
I'm just glad that the conversation went all right and nothing blood-pressure-spiking was said. So it seems we are back on better ground again.
