You know it's bad when even Loki (he who is part frost-giant) is sick of winter...
Welcome to ChiBeria, Part Deux: Revenge of ChiBeria! Those snow mountains? ARE EATING THE YARD. Those are 4-foot-high weeds in the back, for reference. I'm literally standing on 5 feet of snow. I'm waiting for the day I wake up and find that the snow mountains have gobbled up the house, because they just keep getting BIGGER and CLOSER. O__o; (One is already up to the deck there.) The path my mom dug has been obliterated - we don't bother digging it out anymore because FUCK SHOVELING and the stupid wind just blows it all back with reinforcements. So we have to climb over a wall of (mostly solidified) snow to get to the vehicles, which we've taken to parking in the one spot where oddly enough, snow does not (yet) appear to want to congregate.
Thankfully, the temperatures haven't (yet) been quite as bad as the first ChiBeria, although they still suck and tonight we may well break a record for below-zero temps overnight - I just heard on the news in the other room that we will be spending approximately 60+ hours below zero, plus wind chill. EFF. That. SHIT.
Your lesson for the day, kids: NEVER try to drive through snow drifts - Dad learned this the hard way this afternoon when we went out for hot chocolate and wound up stuck with the Sharknado in a fat drift...just a quarter of a mile down our road. We were stuck there about 20 minutes till my poor mom walked all the way down to us with shovels and thankfully, we were able to dig out the car.
Before:
And after. >__< Yeah, we don't bother shoveling anymore.
Now have a gratuitous cat pic: here is me with my Boo, giving her scritches after she's had her noms.
I used to like snow. Now I've gone from "oh, how pretty" to "KILL IT WITH FIRE!!" Cabin fever is affecting even the muses...
Me too, Loki. Me too. X_x
