Thanksgiving week.

- There is a possum living under some junk next to the garage. Sucker came out in broad daylight while Mom and I were picking up junk today, when I spotted Boo kitty staring intently at a spot - where the giant rodent was. D: Didn't know they can be mean little bastards too: Mom shook a rake at it to scare it away and it just stood there, gave her the glare of death and GROWLED at her! O_o; Finally it crawled back underneath the junkpile and to the best of my knowledge stayed there for the rest of however long we were outdoors. I wonder if that's why KC cat likes to hide inside the garage all the time...speaking of him, I'm a little concerned because today all he did was huddle in a corner and not do anything. He looks okay otherwise. Poor baby's been somehow winding up with burrs stuck in his tail - not fun to pull off.

Boo kitty has been racking up smaller rodent corpses (and eating them) lately. I rescued a mouse from her the other day, but the mole she caught later that same day wasn't as fortunate. Neither was whatever's guts that I found by the barn today. A bowl that's always overflowing with kitty-kibble, and she has to go and eat those nasty things. Go figure. She also nailed a bird that somehow got into the garage last week; I found a mass of feathers scattered all over the floor.

- Thanksgiving was pretty kickass - I went to my friend Ayinsan's and her mom put on a fanfreakintastic dinner. I love her family, they're so relaxed and cool about everything, which is a contrast to how my family is anymore. I'm SO glad I get to stay home for Christmas and don't have to go to Texas with my folks! I lucked out on that one. I've been applying at places like Costco and even (shudder) Mallwart in the hope of landing a job, as that's the only conceivable excuse I could think of that would allow me to avoid that trip (also, I just plain need the money. Things are tight again), but so far nothing on that front. But yesterday Dad asked if I was coming with them and I just decided the heck with it, may as well be (tactfully) honest, and I said after all the moving around this year I just wasn't in the mood to deal with a long (and likely) stressful road trip. Surprisingly he and Mom seemed to take that better than I'd thought they would. Also, someone's going to have to look after all the animals: chickens and cats and my fish, so it may as well be me.

But. This will give me some much-needed privacy and chill time, and I won't have to worry about my dad bitching me out over stupid things or having to put up with my SIL's constant litany of "OMG OBAMA SUX" which, given current events, is likely to runneth over the cups, so to speak. So, YAAAAAAAY for Me Time!

- Started dragging out the Christmas decorations today. There is no way in hell that I'd go anywhere near the Black Friday Bullshit, the way it is anymore. Cozying up at home beats being trampled to death by idiots any day. I don't even do Cyber Monday as that's when all the little hackers like to come out, with so many people online shopping. Not that I have any money to go holiday shopping. :(

So that's the latest.

boo, bootsy, holidays, family, kc, cats, k.c.
