1) Today we found ANOTHER bat in the house! This one was behind some boxes downstairs in the living room; I'm not sure if it's the same bat as from the attic and he somehow smuggled himself downstairs in all the boxes my mom pulled out of there (but if he had, wouldn't we have seen something?). In any case we managed to (carefully) sweep him outside via the door there (thank God he was only a few feet away from it) without harm to either human or critter. But jeez, this is the second bat sighting in less than 2 weeks. WTF?
2) Last night I heard about this:
My old hometown makes a name for itself, and NOT in a good way! (WARNING: Rape trigger) I can't say that I'm surprised in the slightest. That school district has always been so full of shit it's no wonder the buildings are made of brown brick. All they ever cared about was their precious shitty football and wrestling crap. Every time a stupid referendum came up for vote it was never about getting more money for actual education, or (God forbid) any music/arts/etc. programs. It was ALWAYS all about the goddamn sports.
And the assministrators? Worthless. They all cover up for one another and kiss each other's asses. I found that out the hard way when I had a shitty English teacher my sophomore year who actually had the gall to tell my mom in no uncertain terms he didn't give a shit whether I failed his class (which I was, partly due to my own teenaged dumbassery, partly because this guy SUCKED as a teacher and purposely set out to trash me because he didn't like me. It was common knowledge throughout the whole school that if you wanted to pass his class with even just a bare minimum grade, you either had to REALLY kiss his stuck-up ass or do one hell of a lot of extra credit. My way out involved ditching his class altogether and taking summer school, which was a whole 'nother can of worms...). A few years after that when I was at community college, I ran into another teacher whom I used to respect, until the subject of Shitty Teacher came up and boy did she rush to defend him. Um, NO, this guy was NOT a good teacher when so many of his students were failing and/or dropping out of his classes!
Typical of that place, everybody quoted in this article is a fucking moron. Observe:
“It doesn’t appear to be a sexually motivated crime,” Weis said. “It’s dominance, humiliation … this would be on the extreme end of hazing incidents I have heard of or dealt with.”
NO FUCKING SHIT SHERLOCK. RAPE IS ABOUT POWER. END OF STORY. (Incidentally, this state's attorney was also the same prosecutor I heard from when I sat on a jury for a murder trial back in 2004. This is why I never vote Republican, kids. Not surprisingly the majority of them don't seem to have the sense that God gave rocks when it comes to things like rape.)
Eric Benson, Plano High School principal, said he thought the incidents were contained to the ones reported, and not part of an ongoing problem. But he admitted Wednesday morning he did not know all the details of the investigation yet.
“I’m not sure if this is completely a hazing,” he said. “If that is the case, we’ve all been held in the dark for a while.”
Benson said the high school has taken measures to increase supervision in locker rooms and throughout the entire school, and did so immediately after an incident was first reported seven months ago.
I call bullshit on that one. Held in the dark, my fat white ass. Those fuckers that run the joint never paid shit for attention to any problems they didn't want to see. This is why I hardly ever bothered to report being bullied, because nobody gave a damn about the weirdo freak who ate lunch alone and got picked on in the hallways between nearly every class, and even *in* class (unless there was actually a rare teacher who didn't tolerate that crap). But God help you if you "pick on" the favorites, the golden boys/girls, by calling them out on their bullshit, because OMG YOU MIGHT BE RUINING THEIR PRECIOUS WITTLE LIVES. /bitter /bitter /bitter
[Police chief] Eaves called the situation “shocking to all of us.”
“But it has to be remembered, these are juveniles,” he said. “They made a mistake. Juvenile law is based on correcting the behavior. The first thing people need to know is that steps have been taken, that the school is safe.”
There is so much wrong there WTF I DON'T EVEN.
RAPE IS NOT A "MISTAKE" YOU GODDAMN FUCKING IDIOT MORON SHITHEAD RAPE IS AN EVIL VIOLATION THAT DESTROYS PEOPLE'S LIVES BECAUSE ASSHOLES LIKE YOU WOULD RATHER COVER IT UP AND PRETEND IT DOESN'T EXIST BY CALLING IT A "MISTAKE" INSTEAD OF THE EVIL SIN IT IS SO YOU CAN GO ON HAVING YOUR PRECIOUS LITTLE RAH-RAH MALE SPORTS SHIT CULTURE THAT ENCOURAGES THIS SHIT AND IT DOESN'T MATTER WHAT THE ACTUAL VIOLATION WAS DONE WITH [reports are that fingers were used] BECAUSE PEOPLE WERE LITERALLY HELD DOWN AND FORCED TO EXPERIENCE THIS VIOLATION AGAINST THEIR WILL AND THEY WILL HAVE TO LIVE WITH THAT FOR THE REST OF THEIR LIVES. I don't give a fuckstained underwear shit if they're juveniles. Fuck them. I hope the little bastards get burned but good. Whining about their age and calling what they did a 'mistake' and claiming you're oh-so-shocked! that it happened is EXACTLY how this shit goes on - because you fucking morons ENABLE it!!
SO glad I burned my yearbook years ago. Fuck that school and fuck that town. It is, always has been and WILL always be a DUMP!
