Win some, lose some.
We got our first good - our only good (thus far) snow of the season the other day. It's enough that someone at the neighbor's was able to make a respectable snowman out of it.
This pleases me.
However I made the mistake of thinking it would be nice to go out walking in it, and ended up slipping and falling on a patch of ice in front of said neighbor's house that was hidden by the blowing snow (plus, it was night). I went down kind of hard on my left knee and skinned it a little, but I must have messed up something in there because it's now sore and stiff to move (hurts when bending; climbing stairs is kind of a bitch), and there's also stiffness in my ankle area. This does not please me. I'm falling apart enough as it is, thank you.
Was most amused by finding out that Drew Peterson flipped his shit when he got his ass handed to him on a platter by the sentencing judge. Suck it, wife-killer. Shitbags getting their asses burnt, that needs to happen more often, yes it does.
Was NOT amused by finding out that the Ku Klux Klan has apparently been up to their usual assbaggery in this area - the other day somebody tossed around a whole bunch of hate fliers in people's yards. I seriously hate this fucking rural dump. I should have remembered that my SIL told me once that they had an active presence around here. Seriously, WTF. And this isn't even the damn South! (although the further south in Illinois you go, the scarier it can be, no thanks to places like Kentucky which have a tendency to export their insanity.)
