Obama 2012/2013: Get used to it, bitches. (Ranting ahead)
I'm sitting here jacking up the volume on an Adam Lambert video so as to drown out the bullshit my parents are watching in the next room. I have a very bad feeling my parents are stupid enough to vote for Romney. Gee, thanks, Mom and Dad. Obviously my rights as a female don't matter for shit, just as long as my dad can keep his precious NRA gun crap.
Sockpuppet Mitt just said his daddy was born in Mexico. Why the fuck aren't we demanding his birth certificate and his head on a platter? Oh, that's right. He's a fucking white rich religious zealot suckup. They never have to prove their ID.
Both sides are not just as bad. Both sides lie, but about very vastly different things. Democrats lie about stupid behavior - taking sex pics, or dipping into public coffers (though usually it's the sex stuff). Republicans lie about women, and if you doubt that all you need to do is rehash all this "legitimate rape" bullshit. Republicans lie about war - hey, remember a little thing called Iraq? Afghanistan? Republicans lie about poor people - everyone who isn't white, rich, Christian is a welfare queen. Republicans lie about death panels and then have the gall to sentence women to unsafe and illegal abortions, send young men and women off to some shithole across the globe under the guise of "protecting our freedoms" (yeah, because Iraq was suuuuuuuch a huge threat to our oil profits country), condemn the very children they claim to want to "save" to a lifetime of poverty and serfdom to corporations and banks and Koch-suckers, blow the covers of US intelligence agents and endanger not only their lives and their families' lives but the national security as well...the list is endless.
In short, the Republicans/conservatives of today's GOP are FUCKING ASSHOLES. Sure, lying in general is bad, but unless you live in a sparklefluffy world of rainbows and unicorns and cupcake-scented farts, the rest of us have to stay mired in reality. This is politics anymore. Deal with it. Obama is by far the better (and saner) candidate, and the ONLY reason he hasn't been able to accomplish more is because the abovementioned assholes have been doing their damndest to hamstring him at every turn - they've flat-out said so, multiple times. If politicians will say anything to get elected, why haven't more Republicans jumped on the gay marriage bandwagon? Why are they so hellbent on outlawing womens' rights, on belittling women and forcing them back into "proper" stereotypical roles?
I've decided - this is my official notice. If you support a fucking asshole, you are an enemy of mine as far as I'm concerned. If you vote Republican you're supporting rape, however indirectly. You're saying "fuck you, your lives don't matter" to women everywhere, including me. I don't care if you vote Democrat or not, but if any of you are even remotely thinking of voting Republican this year - get the fuck off my journal right the hell now. (Which I don't think any of you are, being that I tend to cluster around decent folks instead of closed-minded types.) It's bad enough I'm a lonely liberal surrounded by narrow-minded relatives; I've had to hear some of the most revolting bullshit in recent months and no doubt I will have to hear more of it in the near future. I refuse to tolerate it in my space here.
I can't wait till Obama wins and then I will take immense satisfaction, even evil satisfaction, in watching all the haters' heads explode. I was gracious the first time around and did not gloat to certain complainers in my family when Obama won in 2008. But since the Rethugs obviously have no concept of good sportsmanship, and considering their contempt for women and anyone who isn't heterosexual, white, rich, Christian and male, to hell with manners. This election has been one of the ugliest for sure, but the rape comments - the gloves are off now, baby. And you better believe I am going to fucking glory in the Obama victory this time around.
Because bullying assholery is NOT a "family value."

Somewhat related, I have GOT to get the hell out of this place before it comes time to move to New House. I was just informed tonight that the color I wanted to paint my room - a modest purple - will not be allowed. So I told my mom fuck it - paint the goddamn place whatever you want. I don't want to live there. My dad built that damn place with only one person in mind: himself. My mom's thoughts, my thoughts, don't count for shit. And you know it's bad when even my mom has serious reservations about moving into this place (which she has said to me on more than one occasion, ever since I got back).
Seriously, does anybody out there want a roommate? Though I don't know what to do about my poor cats...or all the crap I have.
But I can't live here, not with these people, anymore. I'm so sick of everybody's bullshit. I want out.
