This did not end well.
Today I went in search of a couple of places where I'd seen job ads for in downtown Ottawa (with which I am not at all familiar). Note to self: fuck the Mapquest. It is worthless.
Royally fucked up when I turned left onto a one-way road (second note: whoever invented one-way streets should DIE IN A FIRE) without realizing it; was DAMNED fortunate that a) traffic was slow enough that I could quickly pull over, flip around and go back the correct way, and b) there were no cops around (don't know if there were any of those traffic cameras, though - if there were, guess I can kiss my ass goodbye later). And then, leery of making the same mistake twice, proceeded to get myself lost in said area as I desperately searched for a way back to the main road that didn't involve any evil one-way routes. (Finally made it intact.)
I actually hope that the places I applied at *don't* call me back. Never again am I taking any route that involves one-way streets. There were a total of 3 spots, but I only found 2, and after the turn-debacle, I said 'fuck it' to the third and didn't bother.
I can't navigate for shit. Never have, never will. Yeah, I should just off myself and be done with it. Just when I think I can make it by myself, something always happens that proves clearly otherwise. :p
