I had a sucky two days due to being diabetic. And...I have no idea why they were sucky.
I woke up early on Sunday at 2am with a BS of 40. I did my normal OJ with two slices of peanut butter toast. I went back to sleep. I woke up again at 730 am with a BS of 222. I took some insulin to bring it back down. I chatted on the phone and then went to mass at 1030. I did not eat breakfast because I wasnt hungry. During mass I began to feel yucky. Thinking that I was going low because I skipped breakfast, I turned my pump off. I then get home at 1230 with a BS of 320. I take some more insulin. At this point I am feeling sick to my stomach and suffering anorexia. So I take a nap and skip eating lunch. I wake up maybe 45 minutes later to a BS of 430. I go oh bleep. I checked for ketones in my urine and find them to be large and so I call my mom. My mom says to change my pump, eat something, and then call her back in 30 minutes. I do as she says and take a nap until it is time to call her back. I check my BS again and it is stll 430. I decide to take a manual shot of insulin. I still have ketones in my urine. So my mom suggests the ER. I say no. I sleep some more. At 5 I check my BS and it is 189. I was happy. So I go get dinner. And I eat it and was yummy. I check my BS an hour after I eat and it is now 530. I still have ketones. I still feel slightly sick. So I take another shot of insulin. I call my parents and I call my pump company. We test the pump, it appears to be working. I realize that I probably took way too much insulin and will have a reaction. I talk to Christopher for a little bit. I check my BS at 1000 it is 92. I check again at 1100 it is 40. I have my OJ and peanut butter toast. I go to bed. I wake up at 400 feeling low. I check my BS it is 40. I have no OJ left so I have milk and go back to bed. I wake up at 600. BS is 180. All is well...NOT. I still have ketones. I continue to monitor my ketones and BS and they both continue to be high. I talk to some coworkers who are nurses. They say go to the Urgent Care and get urine and CBC to see if I have an infection. I go. I wait 60 minutes. I do a urine test. No infection, but high ketones. They do CBC, and my WBC are normal. The doctor is stumped. I am stumped. and my BS still remains high although the ketones are down.
