Genetics and ethics

I have a bothersome ethical problem. In class we were discussing genetic diseases and testing for them. Amnios are done to do some basic DNA genetic testing to see if the child has down syndrome for example. But now there are even 'better' ways to diagnoses genetic diseases. if a baby is born with gentic disorder, do you kill so as to prevent it a lifetime of suffering? no, then neither should you kill at after it is concieved.

remember that the gov defination of when i women i pregant is when the baby implants in the uterus. this could explain why your prof is confused- since a women is not pregant until the baby implants, an abortion doesnt happen if the baby dies before that. in your example, the baby would pass on before implantion.
