That night, Hiroto sat on his bed a little shy of what Shou told him earlier. He bit on his lip and looked at the floor. The brunette sighed and lied on his bed waiting for Shou to arrive. He wondered what the other had in mind for that night tonight. As his mind wandered, he shut his eyes lightly and then drifted off to his own dreamland.
Hiroto then opened his eyes and sat up in his bed. He gasped remembering he hadn't taken his medicine yet. He sat up in bed and took his bottle of medication, popped the top off, stuck on in his mouth and washed it down with his water. He sighed out and then looked around bored to death. He pouted and saw his phone light up with a text. His eyes glowed with happiness.
As he reached over for it, he winced and held on to his side shutting his eyes in pain. The pain was so sharp it brought tears to his eyes as he heard Shou's voice echoing.
"Hiroto.... Hiroto..... Hiroto....HIROTO!!!"
Shou's voice then grew stronger and louder now as Hiroto opened his eyes to see the world once again.
The young brunette's eyes were met with a worried glance of his lover's brown ones. He was drained and weak from the pain that was eating him on the inside. Shou's hands were tightly clasped around his own. He looked up at Shou and saw that he was being rolled away on a gurney. He was in a hospital. Tora was at his other side.
"Hiro-baby... stay strong ne?" He smiled as they rolled him a little further.
Hiroto then looked over at Shou who nodded with his teary eyes holding his hands tightly and safely. "Hiroto~"
Shou's voice echoed in Hiroto's ears as the world before him disappeared and was replaced by silence and darkness. Hiroto knelt in the world of dark silence and bawled in his arms. He was in a world and looked up seeing an array of light beaming down on him. Spotlighting him. The brunette looked up at the beam. He stretched his arms out as tears flowed down his cheeks. He felt so alone, all he wanted to do was to catch the light. All he wanted to do was to let the light take him away.
"Hiroto~" Echoed Shou's voice again.
"SHOU!!"
Hiroto called and turned towards his lover's voice trying to find him until he was blinded with white that stretched from the white beam staining the black atmosphere. Hiroto shut his eyes and shielded them with his arms. When he looked up, he was now in a white room with nothing but his own image continuing throughout the room.
Yes, they were mirrors. Hiroto curiously walked over towards a mirror and reached over to touch it. He looked at himself. His eyes widened. That was not who he was! He shook his head and looked again.
"I-I DON'T HAVE RED EYES!!" He thought.
"Those are your eyes of evil Hiroto....." A voice called out to him.
Alarmed by the voice, Hiroto looked up and around trying to find the owner of that voice. "Your evil eyes of melancholy... you're the devil Hiroto... you're just a pest to this world."
Tears streamed to Hiroto's eyes as he shook his head. "No!! I'm not!! This isn't me!! I have brown eyes!" He looked around frustrated and hurt wanted to find that person, but all he saw nothing but that devil-eyed boy staring back at him smirking. Just then a figure faded in from one side of the room.
"Shou!!" Hiroto cried running over to embrace his lover. But as soon as he reached Shou, he disappeared to the other side of the room. "Shou! Help me!!" He cried trying to catch Shou the best he could. And when he finally did, Shou looked down at him with shocked and confused eyes.
"Who are you?! Don't touch me you creature from hell!" He pried Hiroto's arms off of him and disappeared. Hearing this from Shou, he cried. "I-I can't be!! THIS ISN'T ME!!" He shut his eyes and cried even harder shaking his head not wanting this vision to come back. "STOP!! I can't!! GO AWAY!! JUST GO ALL AWAY!!" He yelled from the top of his lungs letting all his tears stream from his eyes and down his cheeks.
Suddenly he felt his frame being crushed by something. He panicked and soon....Hiroto opened his eyes screaming.
"Hiroto!! Oh god!! HIROTO!!" Shou called cradling the brunette in his arms.
Hiroto looked up and saw Shou. All he could do was hold on to Shou's frame tightly and cry bitterly in his arms. He felt the world come together again. He felt his heart calm within his body. Shou held the younger boy safely in his arms as his mother did to him when he was younger. He patted Hiroto's hair and gently shushed him.
"It's okay Hiroto... it's just a dream ne? It's all right now.. I'm here... I won't leave you..."
Hiroto's sobs were now gone, but his tears were still streaming. He sniffled and nodded loving the way Shou was always there for him. The blonde then pulled away and looked into the other's windows to the world. He smiled softly and wiped his sweetheart's tears off his small cheeks. He kissed it and then rested his hand on one side of Hiroto's face.
"Your eyes are so pretty..." He said and hugged Hiroto again.
The younger boy blushed and clutched fistfuls of Shou's shirt not wanting to let go. The younger's eyes wandered to the mirror beside the hospital bed. It was wonderful, his eyes were brown again. He buried his face into Shou's chest sniffling.
Shou smiled and didn't mind at all, as long as his little Hiroto was all right after this whole incident. Pretty soon, Shou put Hiroto to sleep by humming him a little tune of his own. Hiroto shut his eyes as Shou lied him down tucking the younger's frame snuggly beneath the blankets.
He then pulled a chair closer to the hospital bed and held the younger boy's hand throughout the remainder of the night.
